This can have a negative impact on some sectors of the economy that rely on borrowing or exporting, such as flooring. In particular, hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl flooring, and laminate flooring may see a decline in sales as consumers postpone or cancel their home improvement projects due to higher borrowing costs or lower income expectations.
